80MW power supply to Kesc from Kanupp restored KARACHI: Karachi nuclear power plant (Kanupp) has restored 80 Megawatt of electricity supply to Karachi Electric Supply Company (Kesc), yet the load shedding even in the night continuing, much to the distress of the citizens here.

Kesc 80MW of power from Kanupp has been restored, while Bin Qasim Power Plant’s unit #3 has also started generation, whereas unit #4 still remained closed. Kesc sources said that the company was receiving 600MW from Bin Qasim Power Plant, 150MW from Korangi Thermal Power Plant, 250MW from private powerhouses and 600MW from Wapda, while the current power demand in the city aggregate to 2100MW.

Protracted unannounced load shedding in the city for 3/4 hours very frequently piling miseries on the people, while there appears no respite in sight in the near future.
